JULY 2026 | Disability Pride Parade Celebrating Disability, Community, & Inclusion!
The Center for Independence was proud to participate in Chicago's Disability Pride Parade 2026. Our staff, families, participants, and friends came together to celebrate the strength, talents, and accomplishments of people with disabilities.
The parade was a wonderful opportunity to build community, raise awareness, and celebrate people with disabilities. We loved seeing our Center community come together showing their “I Can! Attitudes!"
At the Center for Independence, we believe disability is a natural and valuable part of human diversity. We are committed to creating opportunities for children and adults with physical disabilities to build confidence, independence, and meaningful connections at home, at school, in the community, and at work.
Thank you to everyone who marched, cheered, volunteered, and helped make Disability Pride a celebration to remember!
MAY 2026 / CFI Family & Friends Day at the Ballpark
For the third year in a row, CFI staff, families, friends, and supporters came together for a day at the ballpark to cheer on the Chicago White Sox. The event gave children and adults with disabilities, along with their families, the opportunity to enjoy an accessible and inclusive community outing while building connections and creating lasting memories.
Accessible recreational opportunities are an important part of community inclusion, and we are proud to help make experiences like this available to the individuals and families we serve. We had a fantastic time and look forward to continuing this tradition for years to come!
